Sydney’s Home of Independent Culture Celebrates with a Party for the Ages.

Teaming up with fbi.radio, Oxford Art Factory marks 18 years with a whole-venue celebration on Saturday 13 September.

After 18 years at the heart of Sydney’s live music, art, and nightlife, Oxford Art Factory is officially coming of age and celebrating the only way they know how: with a party for the people.

In collaboration with fbi.radio, Sydney’s 100% independent tastemakers and champions of emerging artists, OAF is throwing open the doors for a night that pays tribute to 18 years of independent culture, late-night mischief, and unforgettable live music moments. This is more than an anniversary – it’s a toast to the artists, the punters, and the wild nights that made OAF what it is.

Reaching 18 years as an independent venue in the heart of Sydney is no easy feat, and yet, here we are. From day one, the Oxford Art Factory was built to support artists, nurture creativity, and foster a sense of belonging for all who walk through our doors. This party isn’t just about celebrating the past; it’s about standing firm in what we believe in – music, art, diversity, and independence. I couldn’t be prouder of what OAF has become, and this lineup is a snapshot of the scene we’ve helped grow – fresh, fearless, and full of life.
– Mark Gerber, ‘The Boss’, Oxford Art Factory

When Oxford Art Factory first opened its doors in September 2007, it was more than just a live music venue, it was a bold experiment in independent culture, creativity, and late-night freedom. Inspired by Andy Warhol’s legendary Factory in New York, OAF was built as a creative playground, blending live music with visual art, performance, and a commitment to giving emerging artists a stage of their own.

In the early days, OAF quickly became a home for underground bands, indie promoters, artists, and music lovers seeking an alternative to the mainstream. The venue’s two-room setup, with the intimate Gallery Bar and the bigger Live Room stage, created a space where a DJ set, a punk gig, and a pop-up art installation could all happen on the same night.

Ever since, Oxford Art Factory has been a launchpad for many homegrown icons and a must-play venue for local and international favourites, hosting the likes of Tame Impala, Genesis Owusu, G Flip, King Stingray, DMA’s, Vance Joy, Charli XCX, Doja Cat, The 1975, Laufey, Julia Jacklin, and many more. And 18 years on, that same DIY ethos and genre-fluid spirit continues to pulse at the heart of OAF.

Come raise a glass at OAF’s “Coming-of-Age Party” on Saturday 13 September. Catch incredible live acts and DJs, and enjoy a complimentary drink between 6-8pm.
